Hello, Readers!
It’s been a heck of a month in Ramey James land. We’ve got a lot to catch up on. Let’s see, when you last heard from us, I (Deanna here!) was headed to Angieland for girls’ weekend. For years now, we have set aside Memorial Day weekend for girls’ weekend. This year it was pushed back just a bit due to some scheduling conflicts, but we still made it happen. Usually it’s Angie, Deanna, Misty (aka Misty Dawn), and Lori (aka Lauralee). Unfortunately, Misty couldn’t make it, and we missed her terribly, but we will all see each other again in October for Lori’s big birthday bash. We can’t wait!
For girls’ weekend, we started off with a bang. Much to Angie’s dismay, the first thing Lori wanted to do was head to Costco for a slushie machine. Now, something you probably don’t know about Angie is that she is very particular about clutter and having just the right spot to store something, so she wasn’t very keen on having to keep a slushie machine at her house. In fact, her first words, were, “Absolutely not!” But after lunch and an adult beverage or two, we talked her into it. LOL
Now there is a slushie machine at Angieland with the stipulation that when Deanna’s house is built, it goes to live there. Which, Greg (Deanna’s husband) is very much on board with. He’s down for some slushie margaritas.
Anywho, with Lauralee… opps, I mean Lori, we spent the week crocheting, playing croquet, making slushies, eating really well, watching Glee, and playing trivia and cribbage. It was just what we needed.
Once the week was over, Angie and I dropped Lori off at the airport and headed on up to Lexington for the Knockout Book Bash book signing, which was fabulous! My goodness, the readers were amazing and we got to visit with a handful of our favorite author friends, Kathleen Brooks, T. M. Cromer, Lynn Raye Harris, Robyn Peterman, Renee George, and Blair Babylon. Angie and I had a table of my books and Ramey James’s books. Since it was a romance reader event, Angie was certain that we’d only sell one of our cozy mysteries. I’m happy to report that we sold way more than one and even sold completely out of Alpacas and Alibis. Yes! I don’t want to tell Angie I told her so, but… *grin*

The last part of my trip to Angieland consisted of closing on our new property! Hooray! Greg and I are now officially land barons—insert cheeky grin—in the great state of Tennessee. It looks like we’re breaking ground on our new house next month.
I also finished writing The Witch’s Hidden Garden in between bingo night at the local watering hole, celebrating Angie for her birthday twice, and getting my butt kicked at cards when I graciously let Angie win. It was her birthday week after all.
And that’s the Where is Ramey update.
This week we’re back to writing, cause in two weeks we’re meeting up again for a girls’ weekend in Asheville and the North Carolina Yarn Tour. I can’t wait!
