Elvis the opossum that is. Not Elvis the king of rock… at least no one’s proven that yet. A while ago my sister sent a group text to me (Deanna here!) and my 2 other sisters that her husband knows her well and got her a opossum for their anniversary. A baby one. Along with this text she sent this adorable photo.
Now, I don’t know about you, but a baby opossum would definitely not be on my anniversary present wish list. But I am not my sister, nor am I Charmayne. So who I am I judge? If they are happy, I’m happy.
As it turns out, her husband found the abandoned baby in their backyard with no mama in sight. So my sister took in the baby and called a rescue, only the rescue told her they didn’t have the resources to save it. Being the kind-hearted animal lover that she is, she kept baby Elvis with her and nursed him along until she, with the help of the rescue, could release him back into the wild.
We all know Charmayne would have kept that baby, but kudos to my sister for helping baby Elvis. Hopefully he has a long, happy life down in the heart of Texas. 
In other news, June is the month of books signings. Angie and I will be at a book signing in Crossville, TN, at the bookstore Brown Sparrow Books on June 6th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
And then, one week later on June 13th, we will be in Lexington, KY, at Knockout Book Bash. We can’t wait to see you!
