Hello Hoochvillians. Deanna here. And I’m excited to say that September is here! Finally. Yes! I can’t wait for my first taste of that pumpkin spice latte. I know. I know. Everyone likes to make fun of the pumpkin spice lovers, and that is perfectly fine. I can’t help it if I love that tasty deliciousness. But I’m a purest. Only in my lattes. Not anything else. Okay, maybe if there was a pumpkin spice Pop-Tart, then I’d probably be in.
With pumpkin spice season, that brings cooler weather. Right? Right? It’s still hot as blazes here in New Orleans. As of this writing, our high today is 89 degrees. We’re in for a cool front tomorrow at 84. But that’s short-lived until we get back into the 90s.
Yikes. That’s not sweater weather, is it? I’d say it was okay since I’m scheduled to head on up to Tennessee next week, but the forecast there isn’t much better. 80s for the highs and 60s for the lows. At least when we’re sitting outside on the porch after the sun goes down, I might actually be comfortable for the first time since May. LOL.
That’s okay. This fall is going to bring plenty to look forward to other than cooler weather. First up, my trip to Tennessee to see the progress of the house and visit with Angie and our friend Lori. We have big plans of meeting my sister for lunch, seeing Practical Magic 2, getting pedicures, heading to our favorite pizza joint, and just catching up.
In October, we’re off to Vegas for Lauralee’s birthday bash. Our itinerary includes The Wizard of Oz at the Sphere, Drag Brunch, serious pool time, and a visit to our favorite poker bar.
And last but not least, and probably what you’re most excited about, is that Angie and I have big plans to finally finish Fibers and Felonies and start plotting the next book, Grannies and Graves.
No promises, but if all goes well, you’ll have a new book to read before the end of the year.
Happy autumn!
